Automated micro-needling (or Collagen Induction Therapy) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for treating the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, and all-over texture. During treatments, tiny needles are used to create micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. Topical hyaluronic or prp are applied to the skin and the tiny channels created by the micro-needles allow them to aid in the generation of collagen and improve the all-over appearance of the skin. Patients can expect to see a “glow” as soon as a few days after their treatment but results can continue for up to 6 months post treatment. We recommend doing three treatments in conjunction with Laser Genesis, but they can also be done alone. Suggested treatment plans vary from person to person, so it’s very important for patients schedule consultation to know if micro-needling is right for them.
PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)
Platelet Rich Plasma is a concentration of platelets that circulate through the blood. They are required for the healing process. PRP has been used for decades, particularly with elite athletes, to help wounds recover faster after surgery. Because it is full of growth factors, when it is applied to the skin during micro-needling, the body is able to use its own natural growth patterns to improve texture and color of the skin.
